Summer is approaching and soon it will be time to get the BBQ out and enjoy some alfresco cooking. Thanks to the unpredictable British weather, outdoor cooking and heating objects can lie untouched for most of the year, becoming weather-beaten and worn out. But with Rust-Oleum, you can instantly makeover your beloved BBQ and turn back the clock to brand-new.
Rust-Oleum Stove & BBQ Enamel (available in brush or aerosol form) will neaten the exterior of any BBQ, metal patio heater or chiminea. The fast-drying solution, suitable for indoor or outdoor use, offers a durable heat-resistant finish that also protects against rust, to help keep the surface safe no matter what the weather forecast may bring.
If it does eventually get hot outside, this product will withstand heats of up to 650˚C and retains its fresh colour without corroding. Available in either black, silver or green, just two light applications should be sufficient to give your barbecue a good few years of additional service.
What you will need:
- Barbecue
- Rust-Oleum Stove & BBQ Enamel
- Newspaper/ Dust sheets
- Masking tape
- Wire brush
- Damp sponge
HOW TO RESCUE YOUR BBQ
1. Move your barbecue out to an open space in the garden or garage on top of a large dust sheet or some old newspapers. You may want to cover the surrounding area with additional dust sheets/ newspaper to protect it from spray mist.
2. Knock off any loose rust on the barbecue with a wire brush. Wipe clean with a damp sponge. Remove or mask off the propane tank (if it’s a gas barbecue), wheels, tool basket, shelves and other hardware using masking tape.
3. Apply Rust-Oleum Stove & BBQ Enamel to the entire outer surface of the barbecue. Follow the application tips and drying times on the can. Reattach all removed parts when dry.
Rust-Oleum Stove & BBQ Paint is available from Homebase, B&Q and other leading stockists (£8.99 for 400ml). See more at: https://www.rustoleumspraypaint.com/how-to-guide/how-to-spray-paint-a-bbq/#sthash.ptcqtkVB.dpuf
