Reclaim rather than replace tired decking this summer with Ronseal’s easy three step guide.
Ronseal’s Decking Rescue Paint is formulated to fill and smooth cracks, it transforming weathered and grey wood in next to no time. Available in eight colours, use Willow or State for a fresh and modern look, or English Oak and Chestnut for a traditional feel.
Here, Mick Bowler, Research and Development Manager at Ronseal, offers homeowners an easy to step-by-step guide making the most of their deck.
RECLAIM DECKED AREAS IN THREE EASY STEPS
Step 1. Preparation and cleaning
For best results choose a warm, dry day as dampness can affect the quality of the finish.
Before starting, make sure the deck is clean – give it a good sweep and then scrub with Ronseal Decking Cleaner and Reviver to remove all debris. Once complete, blast it with a jet wash and let it dry for a couple hours.
Step 2. Applying Ronseal Decking Rescue Paint
Load your brush with the preferred colour and start painting from the furthest corner. Don’t forget to follow the grain of the wood, this will give an even coat and expert finish.
For cracks and splinters, be generous and put extra paint on your brush.
Easy to work with, Ronseal Decking Rescue paint will be touch dry within 90 minutes and ready for the second coat after four hours, meaning even vast decked areas can be treated in one weekend. You’ll need two coats for optimum coverage and performance.
Step 3. Sit back and enjoy
After a couple of days, you can get back and start using it. Decked rescued, job done!
